Here's another great all-around charger for the E-powered pilot. The Pro-Peak Prodigy Ⅱ is lightweight and easy to use. This charger can charge LiPo and Li-Ion packs, Ni-Cd, NiMH and lead-acid battery packs. This small powerhouse charger has an adjustable charge rate current of 0.1 to 5.0amps (in 100mA steps). That means that the pilot can charge just about every kind of battery he owns with the exception of the very large ones. Like other chargers, the Pro-Peak Prodigy Ⅱ uses a 4-button control panel and a logical menu matrix, one of the easiest to use. To operate, you first pick the battery type then the charging current for the pack. If you are charging LiPo or Li-Ion packs, then you will enter the cell count (voltage) of the pack. All of this is displayed on the LED screen above the buttons. Finally, when you have the correct numbers, press and hold the Start button. The Prodigy Ⅱ also has a charge and discharge cycle that will allow you to condition the battery packs. The charger will detect improper or poor output connections and will let you know if the input voltage is too low. Like many lithium chargers, the Prodigy Ⅱ also has protection against possible damage from a short or damaged battery pack.
