It seems so simple. You grab your airplane, throw it into the air and fly it. But so many models have met their end mere seconds into their first flight because the launch was not done correctly. If you are a new pilot and want to keep you model in one piece, this refresher course in proper hand-launching techniques will put you right on target.rnWhy launch by hand? Good question. If your model has landing gear and wheels and you have a smooth, hard surface or a closely cropped sod runway, the best thing to do is to take off in a normal "rise off the ground" fashion. But what if you don't have a perfect flying area or your model has very smallrnwheel or no wheels at all? Hand launching is the best way to get airborne.
