Well it wasn't on New Year's Eve when Sam Smiths executives closed an Oldham pub in a long running dispute over what constitutes a pint. The publican alleges that she had been told by the brewery to sell beer with 95% liquid and had approached the local Trading Standards which said that was not legal. So Debbie Gibson continued topping up customers pints if they asked. The brewery says that thousands of pounds in lost sales has resulted quoting a very precise figure of £10733, hence the most inconvenient closure. Surely the BBPA can clarify how an advisory minimum can be treated as a commercial maximum by the pubcos.
