The NQMS has been cleared by meetings of the Land Forum and SiLC's Professional and Technical Panel and the aim is to have it operational in six months. The voluntary Scheme aims to ensure satisfactory standards of work and to provide confidence to regulators about the quality of submissions made under the planning system. With continuing concerns about land contamination reports, the NQMS aims to ensure reports delivered by the sector can be relied on by developers and regulators without further scrutiny and that risks have been adequately assessed and dealt with.
