Steven Nelson's From Cameroon To Paris: Mousgoum Architecture in and out of Africa is a beautifully written work based on the author's fieldwork in Africa in 1995. This review will focus on the modernist implications of the book, since few commentators have highlighted the work's contributions toward the postcolonial understanding of African architecture.
