Maxime Lamotte, généticien des populations, a créé le premier enseignement de génétique quantitative en France sur la proposition de Georges Teissier. Cet enseignement, devenu par la suite un dipl?me d'études approfondies, a formé toute une école de généticiens fran?ais et étrangers, que ce soit en génétique humaine, génétique animale et génétique végétale. De nombreux résultats de recherche fondamentaux et appliqués reconnus au plan international sont issus de cette école.%Maxime Lamotte, a well known population geneticist, developed the first training of Quantitative and Applied Genetics in France, supported at the beginning by Georges Teissier. Many Ph.D. students stemmed from this school. Some of them work on human genetics, others on animal or plant genetics. This school has produced numerous results in fundamental and applied research with international recognition.
