Talented individuals need to be on the lookout for potential opportunities for new jobs or upward mobility within an organization. As a result, the recruitment industry has blossomed as recruitment specialists seek out opportunities for individuals and find suitable applicants for firms. What strategic choices must individuals make to rise to the attention of primary and secondary decision makers such as the organization and its recruiters? How do recruitment trends differ in our global, high-tech age? In this interview, Cathy Sims, head of Graduate Recruitment services at University of Cape Town's (UCT's) Career Development Programme and CEO of the South African Graduate Recruiters Association, shares her views on the changing recruiting landscape and how graduates can create and harness their personal brand.
