摘要

During the past decade, the software industry has begun a significant transformation often referred to as the industrialisation of software development. This evolution takes place in two main areas: The transformation of the products themselves and the transformation of the industry's processes towards increased productivity. Main innovations concern model-driven development, service engineering, and development of composite applications on top of service-oriented architectures. This paper discusses the main aspects of this transformation from the view of a provider of business software and shows implications for customers and suppliers as well as promising research areas for the future.
