Changes, big and small, have always happened through networks of people working together. Organized labor in the U.S. helped introduce child labor laws and the eight-hour workday. Suffrage groups won voting rights for women. Those historic changes were many years in the making, but today, networks can be created overnight and rapidly effect change globally. "The ability to create networks across geographical, sector and organizational boundaries has never been as strong as it is today, and the growth of the more transparent world that we live in has amplified the power of networks so that they have the potential for great impact," says Aron Cramer, President and CEO of Business for Social Responsibility (BSR), a global business network that works with its more than 250 member companies to build a just and sustainable world.
