摘要

I was raised on a Holstein farm in Elgin County. My interest in judging and showing started at a young age in 4-H. I competed very successfully in judging competitions, winning my share of championship honours and showmanship competitions. I left high school early and attended Western Ontario Agricultural College at Ridgetown. I had an ambition at a young age to become an auctioneer. I took an auctioneer's course, at the age of 18, in Mason City, Iowa. A gentleman from Rockwood International by the name of Les Millington offered me a job. Rockwood International ran an international export and sales arena, so within a year's time I was in the auction business. I auctioned most of their sales and selected Holstein heifers for many countries around the world, specializing in the Italian market.
