Le nationalisme, enraciné dans le mot nation, lie des individus à une patrie imaginaire par des caractéristiques partagées, l'ethnicité et le paysage. Genocide occurs when nationalism, itself a product of imagination, creates imaginary subjects, who fight over imaginary homelands, and the site of violence becomes women's bodies.
