Lance Paine looks to revitalize Standard Candy Co.'s centennial-to-be brand through a series of quality, production and marketing upgrades. In doing so, customers and consumers will be reminded of how good a Goo Goo Cluster really is. It was the late 19th century British novelist Edward Bulwer Lytton who came up with the metaphor of "forcing a square peg into a round hole." Although rarely used today, the idiom used to be a battle cry for individualism versus conformity several decades ago.
