Born and raised in England, Patrick Aldred never imagined that he would be living and working in America. Having graduated from college in the early eighties with a business technology diploma in mechanical and production engineering, Aldred soon discovered that job openings were hard to come by. "It was fortunate for me that an opportunity came my way moving me into the world of chocolate," he explains. "This first role entailed driving (including an overnight ferry crossing) to Holland, Belgium, France and Germany to collect various confectionery goods and return them to England for delivery to a variety of retail outlets.
