In 1930, when most of the world was suffering from an economic earthquake, John Maynard Keynes took a moment to wonder what might happen in the long run. What would the world be like in 100 years? Are we fated to suffer from an unending series of economic earthquakes or will the world take a different turn? Keynes set down his thoughts in a short essay called "Economic Possibilities for Our Grandchildren." After the passage of 83 years, we can fairly ask: What did he get right and what did he get wrong?
