Originally established in 1999, China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) is China's largest shipbuilding conglomerate and covers both military and civil-use naval products. The group engages in shipbuilding, ship repair, shipboard equipment manufacturing, and naval equipment design and research activity through its subsidiaries. Specific to the military. CSSC manufactures warships and submarines for the Chinese Navy. Outside the naval sector, CSSC is involved in various business areas including trading, financing and real estate; although shipbuilding remains its core segment.
