In BMI's 2016 Defence Risk Reward Index (RRI) China scores 63 out of 100, placing first regionally out of 14 states in the Asia Pacific. China's domestic defence sector continues to represent one with modestly positive opportunities for foreign investors and companies over our forecast period, however, China's overall RRI score reflects the country's commitment towards greater civil-military integration, large-scale modernisation of military divisions and high defence spending amid an elevated risk of regional conflict.
