N-acetamide C_60 nitride (N-acetamide-1, 2-dihydro-1, 2-aza-fullerence [6]) has been synthesized by the reaction of C_60 and azidoacetamide and initially characterized. Its mechanism was that the objective product is formed through intermediate triazoline. The computational study shows that N-nitride structure is thermodyamically more stable by using the semi-empirical AM 1 SCF-MO method.
