The decay function in dielectric relaxation has a general form exp[-(t/τ)~α]; and if there are several relaxation mechanisms, it may be expressed as the sum of terms in this form. The dielectric between electrodes having areas S was polarized by anapplied voltage U_0 to reach equilibrium, and it discharges subsequently through a resistance R.
