Since the discovery of high-T_c superconductors, additions of proper elements to YBa_2Cu_3O_(7-δ) system have been proved to be quite effective in both mechanism researches and improvements of sample preparation technique. Recently, an interesting phenomenon in YBa_2Cu_3O_(7-δ) was reported by Feng Yong et al., i.e. when being doped with appropriate amounts of V_2O_5, samples which have been quenched in air from 900°C to room temperature could show superconducting transition above 88 K, while theundoped one prepared under similar conditions are not superconductors. To become supercondcuting, the samples must be annealed or cooled slowly in the oxygen atmosphere so that the nonsuperconducting tetragonal phase formed at high temperature can absorboxygen enough to transform to superconducting orthorhombic phase during 600--800 °C. Although they have been widely used in the sample preparations, the above heat-treatment methods appear not to be very suitable for the fabrication of thin film with high quality since there always exist mutual element diffusions between the film and the substrate, which sometimes makes T_c lower. However, work of Feng Yong et al. has pointed out that such heat-treatment might be avoided through proper element additions. Therefore, it would be of great significance to identify all the phases in the V_2O_5-doped YBa_2Cu_3O_(7-δ) system. Experiments and results of this respect will be contributed in this note.
