The program may involve limited production for which a dedicated report is not justified, and/or it may not release enough information to produce an individual report. Hafei Y-12. The Y-12 is a 19-seat, twin-engine light transport that is produced in China for both military and civil operators by the state-owned manufacturer Hafei (short for Harbin Aircraft Industry (Group) Co Ltd). The Y-12 evolved from the 1970s-era Y-11 and features a redesigned wing, a longer fuselage, and other improvements. Power is provided by two PT6A-27 turboprop engines driving Hartzell props. Maximum takeoff weight is 12,600 pounds (5,700 kg). The Y-12-II is the initial production model and received Chinese certification in 1984.
