As the reader is told at the outset, "This is a book about the restoration of the master builder to the commercial building site." So begins A Better Way to Build, a corporate history of the Pankow companies that also serves as a history and celebration of the design/ build construction methodology that company founder Charles J. Pankow helped to pioneer in the 1960s. Though not explicitly a biography of Pankow, the founder figures prominently throughout, and the company's history since his death, in 2004, is covered fairly briefly.
