This summer ASCE members will be casting votes that will affect the future of the civil engineering profession. On June 15 the pro- cess begins for electing new ASCE national officers, including the president-elect, region and at-large directors, and region governors. Robert D. Stevens, Ph.D., P.E., F.ASCE, and Mark W. Wood-son, P.E., L.S., F.ASCE, have been selected by the Board of Direction's Nominating Committee as the two official nominees for the position of president-elect. To give ASCE members an insight into the views of this year's nominees, Anne Elizabeth Powell, the editor in chief of Civil Engineering, interviewed the two nominees and asked them 13 questions that focused on topics of current importance to the Society.
