Hopefully you've had the opportunity to read the November 22 entry in the ASCE President's Blog by Andrew W. Herrmann, P.E., SECB, EASCE. In an essay entitled "Are We Really the Rodney 'No Respect' Dangerfield of Professions?" Herrmann points out that while engineers are labeled trustworthy by the public, they get no respect or recognition for what they do. "It's probably our fault," he notes. "We are by our training a modest group; we don't ask for glory, and it sure doesn't seek us out."
