摘要

Designers working on a curvilinear, translucent, leaf-inspired building that will serve as the Baha'i temple in Santiago, Chile, may be redefining the relationship between architects and engineers. After collaborating closely to ensure that the organic shapes conceived by the architect could be translated into a robust structure engineered to withstand the largest of earthquakes and last hundreds of years, the architect refers to the engineer as "an artist" and "a genius," and the engineer says the architect is "highly supportive and motivating."
