Most transportation departments would be reluctant to let sdentists shake a bridge until it started to crumble, but in June the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) allowed a group of researchers to do just that. They actually destroyed the bridge three times in order to test the durability of carbon fiber wrapping after the initial shaking.
