Last month ESA launched the "right waste, right place" campaign on Duty of Care. This is a hugely important issue for the sector as an ongoing lack of application of Duty of Care means that too much material is allowed to leak away from legitimate operators and into the hands of criminals. The first phase of the campaign has been funded by the Environment Agency and is led by ESA. We are also pleased to have the support of a number of other organisations, including CIWM and the Environmental Services Association Education Trust. An interactive website has been developed to underpin the campaign, which contains a simple guide to Duty of Care, video animation highlighting the importance of Duty of Care, a range of case studies,and some concise guides on what businesses and enterprises must do with different types of waste.
