摘要

The past few weeks have been party conference season, when our politicians spend time with their respective party members considering their policies for the country at large. Much of the political discussion post-June has been focused on Brexit and the outlook remains very uncertain on how this will start to take shape over the coming weeks, months and indeed years. ESA has been at the Liberal Democrat, Labour and Conservative conferences trying to ensure that the waste and recycling industry's voice is heard during the critical Brexit process. We are, of course, a vital part of the UK's green industries, and should be an integral part of the new Government's industrial strategy proposals. As we all know, EU legislation and targets have been the basis for our sector's transformation during the past 15 years and we desperately now need a new long-term policy framework to keep moving forward.
