Six projects have been named as the recipients of a share of the Greater Manchester Waste Disposal Authority's ￡60000 Community Waste Reduction Fund. Launched in September 2010, the fund aims to support waste prevention and recycling initiatives that demonstrate a lasting community benefit. The six recipients are: 1. EMERGE: a project to create community "zero waste" champions 2. Monton Village Community Association, for recycling activities 3. PEARLS Community Scrap Store, for funding one full-time post 4. Rebuild, for furniture re-use 5. The Nationwide Cycling Academy, for cycle re-use.
