With Energy from waste (EfW) facilities becoming more and more the solution for sustainable waste treatment, the demand for safe and reliable Air Pollution Control (APC) technology naturally increases. In order to meet this rising demand within an environment of budget cuts, companies have to develop concepts that remove pollutants, not only in an efficient, sustainable and reliable way, but that are also cost-effective. In addition, systems should be adaptable with regard to possible future legislation changes. Three main types of gas APC technologies are available in today's marketplace: dry, semi-dry and wet systems, whereas the most commonly used systems in the UK are dry or semi-dry ones.
