The compostable caddybag project started with the campaign to remove all plastic carrier bags from shops in the village of Modbury in Devon. Shops in the village, including the local Co-operative, were buying compostable bags for sale to customers. We decided that we needed to source our own compostable bag to support our store in Modbury, and in other places where a ban on plastic bags was likely.
