IF THE UK was to recycle 70 percent of the waste it created, more than 50000 new jobs in the sector could be created, according to a new report from Friends of the Earth (FoE). This is composed of more than 29000 direct jobs, 14 700 indirect jobs and more than 7000 induced jobs. It also estimates that of the 50000+ jobs created, the majority (around 42 000) would be in England with around 5 000 in Scotland, 2 600 in Wales and 1 800 in Northern Ireland.
