The fact that as a CIWM sponsor, I'm writing this short piece about marketing waste and waste management products and services within this issue sets out my stall with regard to my current marketing viewpoint. P&L Software Systems Limited, like most other major players in the waste management industry, places advertising in a number of trade magazines. You'll see our advertisement somewhere in this issue, I'm sure. These advertisements play a vital part in making the marketplace aware of our products and their benefits. But increasingly I'm of the view that sponsorship of important trade journals, such as this - and also major trade events, play a key part in helping us to get a much more subtle and useful message to the marketplace. The sponsorship of important trade web sites is also beginning to feature highly on many a waste industry advertising schedule. Our own websites now give us all the opportunity to communicate not only information about our products and services, but a whole gamut of additional information, often of great value and interest to our customers.
