Set yourself for another silly season in the press on waste issues and, in particular, alternate week collections and incentive schemes, or as the popular press would have it "fortnightly rubbish collections", "spies in the bins" and "taxes on waste". The release of the consultation package on waste incentive pilot schemes attracted attention beyond us wasters and resulted in the press and some politicians taking the opportunity to have a go at public services and Government policy.
