Whereas the major Anglo focus over recent weeks has been the launch of the Waste Strategy Review for England, north of the border the Scots have their own consultation on the key issue of household waste prevention. The two documents appear to be very different in their objectives, one being an interim review of national strategy, the other being a more focused consultation on a specific waste stream. Nevertheless there are some common sustainability principles and themes which are worth dwelling on as well as the differences in approach.
