The US Patent Office has granted a US patent (No. 7,547,413) to Bauer Energy Design for a new technology used in disinfecting or sterilising surfaces, objects or environments with a specially treated water steam. The patent covers various disinfecting methods and systems.rnThe technology has variety of applications including healthcare, food manufacturing and processing, education facilities, as well as in domestic households.rnThe company says surface-mediated infectious disease transmission is a major concern and while chemical disinfectants are frequently used to reduce contamination, they can pose significant risks to humans and the environment and require long dwell or exposure times. Furthermore, some micro-organisms have natural resistance to chemical disinfectants.
