Many years ago (I'll take the fifth on how many), I spent quite a bit of time with my mother and grandmother shopping for fabrics. We spent time together sewing the things we needed to enrich our lives. We made home de'cor accessories, clothing and fabric treasures that we gave as gifts. Mom and Nanny taught me the importance of sewing and the economics of using every last scrap of fabric. Through the time we spent together, I received not only their love but also an education that has served me well throughout my life. As a young girl, I'm sure my view was much different, but now that I look back, I realize the value of that time we spent together.
