摘要

INDIA and USA have signed an agreement designed to promote co-operation in Science and Technology. The signing took place in the Treaty Room at US. State Department. Secretary Rice predicted that the pact would encourage co-operation in a range of fields including basic Sciences, space, energy, Nano Technology as well as health and information technology. Mr. Sibal describe the agreement as historic and a major milestone. He said that he was proud of the Indian Scientific community, that despite the meagre resources in R & D our Scientists have done us proud. But he thought that the time has come when the country must invest more in R and D.
