Organic electronics is a field of materials science concerning the design, synthesis, characteri2ation, and application of organicsmall molecules or polymers that show desirable electronic properties such as conductivity. Organic light-emittingdiodes (OLEDs) are the subject of research as well as commercial interest and there has been a great progress achieved since the initial works by Kodak's team and Cambridge's group on small-molecule-based and polymerbaseddiodes. Displays based on OLEDs have real life applications and are found in digital cameras, mobile phones, personal stereos, and similar appliances. Most of the devices use doped OLEDs where dopants are used as an integral part. However, for the easier fabrication molecular materials in the mass production processes non-doped red OLEDs are in demand. Functional molecules for non-dopedpure red OLEDs with high brightness and efficiency are extremely scarce and there has been an intense research in this area.
