摘要

Good hygiene is an aid to health, comfort and social interactions. It directly aids in disease prevention or disease isolation. Health care is a serious business which is not only influenced by practised medical professionals but also culture of other general public. Textiles come to our help in every walk of life, in either conspicuous or inconspicuous form. With the increasing threat from new strains of bacteria and viruses and its related growing problems, Textile being vulnerable to microorganisms' attack that would cause many cross-infections and allergic reactions. The field of application of technical textiles is unlimited and the ideas are often revolutionary. The awareness of health & hygiene for consumers has increased the demand for antimicrobial textiles. Garment finishing techniques like wrinkle free and non-shrink may also be harmful for people with sensitive skin. They may cause nausea, breathing difficulties, seizures etc. Keeping in mind the safety aspects of healthy lifestyle and hygiene lead to a range of textile products namely, herbal textile products. Herbal treatment on fabric surface may control the pathogen development and improve the Health condition. Most of the home textile products are used closer to skin; hence it is advisable to go for natural finishing agents which are ecofriendly. Hence here in this review paper, different natural herb for some textile materials have been discussed, to make an eye opening in the young minds to go for recycling and re-innovations of natural wastes through converting them into useful textile products.
