Towards India's ambitious plan to achieve a garment export target of US$ 65-billion by 2017 [1], improvements in productivity, quality, product diversification and value addition are of prime importance [2]. The existing technology in the garment wet processing sector is largely inadequate to meet this challenge. Hence, there is an urgent need for technological investments to improve plant efficiency, productivity, better batch-to-batch reproducibility and global capacities [3,4].
