The ministry of textiles urged the bureau of indian standards (bis), technical textile manufacturers and user organizations to accomplish the task of setting of standards for technical textiles on mission mode. While inaugurating a national seminar on 'role of standards in promotion of technical textiles' organized jointly by ficci, ministry of textiles and bis, ms. Rita menon, secretary, ministry of textiles, said that speedy delivery of outputs in standards setting and a conducive regulatory framework along with the need to get an endorsement of the textile ministry efforts by other relevant ministries and departments was imperative to encourage industry to invest adequately in the technical textiles sector.
