摘要

A process is described to make wool articles fast to machine washing as per Woolmark Standard TM 31. The process is a combination of chlorine free treatment followed by treatment with biopolymer chitosan. The laboratory trials could be transferred on to large scale processing. The antipilling chlorine-Hercoset process is now used to a limited extent due to AOX problem in waste water. Hence, the chemical industry is searching for a ecofriendly system replacing chlorine with other oxidising agents. One of the alternatives is per oxymonosulphate but the effect produced is not enough. In combination with enzymes, the effects are fast to machine washing.
