As of today, India is the largest manufacturer of woven fabrics and accounts for about 150,000 million meters every year from all sectors: mill sector, powerloom sector, and handloom sector, including knitted fabrics. From an importing country for fabrics, India has become an exporting country for fabrics, exporting fabrics to all parts of the world. Textiles account for more than 20% of the national industrial production, far ahead of any other Indian industry. In terms of exports also, textile industry is ahead of any other industry.
