Previous issues of COM-SAC have amply pointed out that current approaches and organizational structures for enterprise protection and security are highly scattered, insular and uncoordinated. This issue further analyzes and points out the costly impact to organizations of these inadequacies and the need to consider a drastic restructuring of the organizational framework for achieving effective enterprise risk management, protection and security. It is increasingly clear that the highly fractionated enterprise protection infrastructures prevailing in organizations today must give way to a more coordinated and holistic approach to enterprise-wide security and protection. This requires an overhaul of the present enterprise protection infrastructure. In this issue we also discuss the many benefits that enterprises would gain by restructuring enterprise-wide protection and security.
