摘要

The DVSA'S attempt to attract drivers back into the industry by allowing them to avoid periodic training are welcome, but employers still have an obligation to ensure their drivers are safe, legal and compliant. This is the view from one transport lawyer, who also questions how the decision fits with existing legislation which states that failing to gain 35 hours training is an offence (see box). CM revealed in April that professional drivers who left the industry before clocking up 35 hours of Driver CPC training by the September 2014 deadline, could return by sitting modules two and four of the initial qualification to gain their driver qualification card (DQC).
