摘要

The geography of digital distribution by Ramon Lobato (2019) and Locked out: Regional restrictions in digital entertainment culture by Evan Elkins (2019) provide fascinating views on the ways in which online distribution of cultural content has, and, paradoxically, also has not, changed the lay of the global land in terms of what du Gay et al. long ago described as the "Circuit of Culture", or the production, distribution, consumption, representation and regulation system across which cultural content emerges and circulates. Lobato and Elkins both cast detailed, interesting, informative and reflective lenses on the intersections between technology, culture, politics, economics and identity and both shine a bright light on a dimension of the Circuit of Culture that often tends to be overlooked: Distribution.
