摘要

The Welsh village of Devauden has become the first place in the UK to receive 4G-based mobile broadband as part of the new Shared Rural Network (SRN). Finalised in March, the SRN allows the UK's four main networks - BT, EE, 02 and Vodafone - to share existing masts and build new ones to provide services to areas that are hard to reach. It's being backed by £500m from the Government, while the networks will invest £532m between them. Devauden's 4G is being provided by Vodafone, which published a photo of the village's new mast. The village, which has a population of just over 1,000, is situated in the Wye Valley, between the towns of Chepstow and Monmouth.
