I've been a huge fan of Google Photos since it launched last year. I was aware you could search your collection by different categories (panoramas, collages, videos, for example); subject matter (boats, sea, castles and so on); and the location they were taken. However, until recently I didn't realise you could carry out this type of search for people you know. You first need to tell Google the names of your family and friends so that its facial-recognition technology can get to work.
