If you live in a built-up area, your Wi-Fi signal may interfere with your neighbours' Wi-Fi (particularly at peak times like early evening) and your internet speeds will slow down as a result. To fix this, change the default channel used by your router to one that's less congested. Click the Start button, type cmd and press Enter. In the Command Prompt, type lpconflg, press Enter, then look for the number next to Default Gateway. This is your router's IP address. Open your web browser and enter this number into the address bar. You will also be prompted to enter your router's administrator username and password (not the same as your Wi-Fi password).
