If the prospect of paying, upfront or over a contract, £400 or more for a new Android smartphone is just too much, there are cheaper alternatives such as the new Motorola Motoluxe, which costs £220. Despite its relatively low cost, it still packs in features that make it almost as appealing as pricier models. First is the screen, which, at 4in from corner to corner, is that little bit bigger than the iPhone's. It actually looks a lot bigger, since the extra size is the result of the screen being the same width, but about 13mm taller than the one on Apple's smartphone.
